Recipe Friday: Wings!!

I LOVE wings. Who doesn't, really? I can eat endless amounts and still look for more. Recently I found this recipe, for "Light Hot Wings," so I figured why not share the wealth and deliciousness! This recipe calls for you to bake the wings, which is what I usually do, and it also asks for a "dry" rub which I also do, so this recipe isn't too different from mine...but it adds yummy sweetness. Def try it because I fell in love immediately!!

"Are you having your friends over for a get-together and want to make something that is delicious, quick and won’t add jelly to your belly? Try these guiltless hot wings! Since they're baked and prepared with absolutely no butter or flour, these wings will not weigh you down. They're easy to prepare, and the ingredients used are inexpensive. This recipe has won an award from Delta Sigma Theta sorority-cooking contest for its unique taste. Please read the directions carefully and you will be guaranteed a great night with your friends."

4 pounds of chicken wings
2 tablespoons of black pepper
2 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning
1 bottle of Frank's® RedHot® Cayenne Pepper Sauce (or similar hot sauce)
1 cup of brown sugar
1 tablespoon of ketchup
1 tablespoon of orange juice

Rinse the wings in cold water.
Cut the tips off with kitchen scissors or a knife.

Place the wings on a cooking sheet and rub 2 tablespoons of pepper, 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning and 3oz of hot sauce on the wings.

Preheat the oven to 400ยบ. Handle the tray carefully when placing it in the oven.

Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Turn the chicken over and bake for 10 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and to desired crispiness.

Mix desired amount of hot sauce, ketchup, orange juice and brown sugar in a small bowl. Make sure that all the lumps are mashed out from the brown sugar. Dip the wings in the sauce until they are fully covered in sauce.

Repeat and enjoy!!
